Speed Training With A Purpose
Agility training benefits athletes in most sports. It's a great alternative to performing strength training workouts in the gym and cardiovascular conditioning.
Have a purpose the next time you set up some cones or perform agility work. Don't just step on the field and throw down the cones and start running.
Here are a few tips to help with speed training.
1. Set a goal, just like you would for a strength training program. What do you want to improve today?
2. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and construct a plan to improve upon the weaker.
3. Add some progressions during your sessions, so you make it more challenging each workout.
4. Learn proper running technique! If you are not running with proper technique it's going to be challenging to improve your speed and movement skills.
